Dr. Timothy Reardon received a PhD in Health Services Organization/Health Economics from the University of Michigan and an MS in Business and Public Health from UCLA. Dr Reardon has over 25 years experience in the design, start-up, and management of healthcare programs and information systems, as well as in cost evaluations, statistical analysis, and operations research. His experience includes:
o Telehealth expert for the Department of Defense (DoD) as an advisory board member and Subject Matter Expert, including the telehealth component of the Defense Center of Excellence(DCoE) in Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury and the DoD virtual Vision Center of Excellence VCE
o Invited presentations on telehealth to leadership and professional meetings in the United States and Europe, including briefings to military surgeon generals and foreign health ministers.
o Editorial Board Member for several telehealth journals and grant proposal reviewer for the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Commerce, and Foundations.
STARTUP MANAGEMENT AND ENTREPRENEUR:
o Program Manager for major telehealth initiatives including software, Web, and database development, leading ongoing support to the Federal Joint Working Group on Telemedicine, and in directing start-up activities for congressionally mandated Defense Centers of Excellence.
o Led the planning and implementation of numerous collaborative telehealth conferences and work groups, most recently established telemental health work groups across the Army, Navy, Air Force, and civilian TRICARE contractors.
o Managing Director of a home health agency, owner/operator of a small business (recreational marina), and board member of an international modeling collaboration.
APPLIED RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS:
o Co-Author of numerous funded technology proposals developed in collaboration with senior clinical medicine, public health and engineering school faculty. These proposals have included research in clinical informatics such as conformal radiation therapy, health information systems and decision support, telemedicine, and e-health.
o Recognized expertise in a cross-disciplinary array of analytic, evaluation, and research methods, including: cost-effectiveness analysis, survey and outcomes research, geospatial and simulation modeling.
o Published Author in the economics, policy, and organization of telehealth as well as in health marketing.
